Hello again!

I haven't written In so long! I allowed myself to get too busy to do something that I love! I don't even know where to begin with posting projects. I am usually in constant project mode. If I don't have a project going, then there is usually something wrong! Lol. I enjoy the challenge and the reward of the end result. I think I'll start with my most recent project.
I had this awkward space between my refrigerator and my pantry door. I honestly think it used to be an opening into our now little girls room, that was enclosed by previous owners. I had a dresser turned china cabinet there, but it was just too uniform for my liking. So, one morning I woke up with a determination to figure something out to go there. Well by about 9 am, it hit me! A small bar with bar stools! I drew it out and bam, me and hubby got to work! Everything was done by the end of the day! I had envisioned finding large metal letters to spell out the word "EAT", but I found this cute LED arrow at stein mart and I fell in love with it and knew it was absolutely perfect for the spot! So here is the finished project!

Christmas break project

This week has been a week of projects and transformations! I think I've worked harder being off work this week than when I'm actually at work! I'm ready to go back to work so I can have a break! Ha...
Anyway, my husband found this desk and chair on a local resale page, and when I saw it, I knew I had to have it! It's a genuine antique! All I did with the desk was coat it with lemon oil. The wood was too beautiful to paint.
Here is the before:

Here is the after:
I had debated on whether I should change the knobs or not, but just decided to keep the original ones to keep it as antique as possible.

Then, I decided to paint the chair and recover the cushion. It was pretty bad!
Here is the before:

And here is the after:

The finished product! The pictures do NOT do these beauties justice!

Thanks for visiting!

Christmas tour

Hey everyone! I'm finally getting a few minutes to write a blog post. I love Christmas time, but sometimes it can get a little too busy! But I guess we just have to try to enjoy it in the midst of the business. I want to give you a small tour of my home and some Christmas decor that I've put out this year! I'm especially excited about my new deer head this year; although, he'll definitely be staying out year-round.
Here he is in the dining room.

Here is my dining room table. I love to keep it set this time of year just so I can look at it!

This is a small tree in the corner of my dining room. It is real 😉 I've got it in an old box.

This is also in my dining room.

This is the table in my foyer. My rocking horse is another favorite of mine!

I chose to just hang a plain green wreath on my chalk board in my breakfast room.

Here is my living room.

This is the shelf over my tv.

Side table

Bookshelves

Mantle
Loving my new fur stockings!

I also chose to hang small wreaths that I made on some of my windows to add to the festivity.
I hope you enjoyed it!!! And would love your feedback! Now, I've got to run because I've got a party to get ready for!!! It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Simply fall

My favorite time of year is finally here! I absolutely LOVE fall!! I tend to get a little obsessive with pumpkin though. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin granola... You get the point. All that to say, even though I'm obsessive with all that, I do like to be very simple in my fall decor. I stick to the saying "less is more" when it comes to what I decorate with for fall. My favorite pumpkins are the heirloom pumpkins. The more unique the better! I just like the plain white ones the best! So, here are a few pictures from around the house:) enjoy!!

Furniture makeover

Ok.. So I finally had a few minutes to sit down and share my most recent furniture makeover! This particular piece was given to us by my parents soon after we bought our first house. We used it as a TV armoire. Well, recently we got a new, bigger tv that would not fit in this stand. So, I decided to take it into the dining room, and use it as a catch-all cabinet:)

Here's the finished product! I painted it Silver Mist by Sherwin Williams. I also took the top doors off so I could have some open shelving to use for some cute decor. I put beadboard on the back of the opening so that it looked like it was meant to be open. I mean, who doesn't love a little beadboard! I bought some new knobs at Hobby Lobby and Voila!

Old sewing table transformation

I have been so excited to share this blog with you! I bought this old sewing table for next to nothing from a lady in my church. I couldn't wait to make it over!!

Here's the before picture!
Aren't the details on the legs just beautiful?!
So, right when I got it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do to it! Chalk paint it! With my all time favorite color!! And then seal it to give it a little bit of a shine.
Here's the after picture!
BIG transformation!
I don't think I've ever been this in love with a piece of furniture! It goes perfectly in my living room as a sofa side table:)
